Privacy Policy – GlowLog

Introduction

GlowLog ("we," "our," or "the app") is a skincare routine tracking application developed by Q8 Dev. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use GlowLog.

By using GlowLog, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address (if signing in with email/password)
  • Apple ID information (if using Sign in with Apple — we receive only what you choose to share: name and/or email, which may be a private relay address)
  • Skin type selection (chosen during onboarding)

Skincare Data

All data you enter into the app:

  • Products: Name, brand, category, purchase date, expiry date, price, rating, notes
  • Routines: Routine names, steps, product associations, wait times
  • Diary entries: Skin mood ratings (1–5), notes, lifestyle factors (sleep quality, stress level, water intake, weather, hormonal tracking, new product usage)
  • Completion records: Which routine steps you completed each day
  • Streak statistics: Current streak, longest streak, total days tracked

Photos

  • Product photos and skin diary selfies are stored locally on your device by default
  • Photos are only uploaded to our cloud servers if you explicitly enable Cloud Photo Backup in Settings (requires GlowLog Pro)
  • Photos are stored in private, per-user folders and are not accessible to other users

Subscription Information

  • If you subscribe to GlowLog Pro, your purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information
  • We receive subscription status information (active/expired/cancelled) through RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, to determine your access level

In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

GlowLog offers optional premium features ("GlowLog Pro") through Apple's In-App Purchase system:

  • Monthly subscription: $3.99/month, auto-renewing
  • Yearly subscription: $29.99/year, auto-renewing
  • Lifetime purchase: $14.99, one-time

Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of the selected plan. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your App Store account settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, process, or store any payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details.

Notifications

If you enable routine reminders or product expiry alerts, notifications are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification system. No data is sent to external servers to deliver these notifications.

Automatically Collected Information

  • We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, location data, or analytics/tracking data
  • We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs
  • We do not display advertisements

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  • Provide the app's functionality: Track your skincare routines, products, diary, and progress
  • Cloud sync: If you create an account, synchronize your data across devices and protect against data loss
  • Subscription management: Verify your GlowLog Pro subscription status
  • Local notifications: Send reminders for your AM/PM routines and product expiry alerts (only if you enable notifications)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, share your data with advertisers, use your data for profiling or targeted advertising, or use your skincare data for any purpose other than providing the app's features to you.

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device using UserDefaults with JSON encoding. This is the primary data store — the app works fully offline.

Cloud Storage (Optional)

If you create an account, your data is synced to Supabase (our cloud database provider), hosted in the Asia-Pacific (Tokyo) region. All database tables use Row Level Security (RLS), meaning each user can only access their own data. Data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption in transit). Cloud photo storage uses private per-user folders with access restricted to the authenticated user.

Third-Party Services

  • Supabase: Authentication, database, file storage — receives account info, skincare data, photos (if cloud backup enabled)
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management — receives anonymous app user ID, subscription status
  • Apple (Sign in with Apple): Authentication — receives email (or private relay), name (optional)
  • Apple (App Store): Payment processing — handled entirely by Apple, we never see payment details

Data Retention

  • Your data is retained as long as you maintain an account
  • Local data persists on your device until you delete the app
  • Cloud data persists until you delete your account
  • If you sign out, your local data remains on your device but cloud sync is disabled

Your Rights

  • Access your data: All your data is visible within the app at all times
  • Export your data: Use the PDF Export feature in Settings
  • Delete your data: Delete individual items within the app, or contact us at q8y.c0d@gmail.com to delete all cloud data and your account
  • Opt out of cloud sync: Use the app without creating an account
  • Opt out of photo backup: Cloud Photo Backup is off by default and can be toggled in Settings
  • Opt out of notifications: Disable notifications in Settings at any time

Children's Privacy

GlowLog is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at q8y.c0d@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

European Residents (GDPR)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Legal basis for processing: Consent (account creation) and legitimate interest (providing app functionality)
  • Data controller: Q8 Dev
  • Right to data portability: Export your data via the PDF Export feature
  • Right to erasure: Contact q8y.c0d@gmail.com to request deletion of all your data
  • Right to lodge a complaint: You may file a complaint with your local data protection authority

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
