Terms of Service – CleanSnap

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using CleanSnap ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

CleanSnap is a photo and storage cleaning utility that allows you to:

  • Detect and remove duplicate, similar, blurry, and unwanted photos
  • Compress videos to free up storage space
  • Find and merge duplicate contacts
  • Clean messaging attachments (WhatsApp, Telegram)
  • Clean email attachments
  • Convert photo formats (JPEG to HEIF)
  • Identify and manage large files
  • Organize photos into Smart Albums
  • Store private photos in a PIN-protected Secret Vault
  • View storage insights and cleanup statistics

CleanSnap is a utility tool that processes all data locally on your device. It does not upload, transmit, or store your content on any external server.

3. No Account Required

CleanSnap does not require an account, login, or registration. The app works entirely offline and locally on your device.

4. CleanSnap Premium Subscription

CleanSnap is free to download and use with limited functionality. Optional CleanSnap Premium features are available through in-app purchases.

  • Weekly subscription: $1.99/week, auto-renewing
  • Monthly subscription: $4.99/month, auto-renewing
  • Yearly subscription: $19.99/year, auto-renewing
  • Lifetime purchase: $39.99, one-time payment

Free Tier Limitations

  • 10 scans per day
  • 5 deletions per day
  • 1 video compression per day
  • Contact cleanup: view-only (no merging)
  • Messaging & email cleanup: view-only (no deletion)
  • Secret Vault: up to 3 items
  • No access to Smart Albums or Format Converter

Premium Features

  • Unlimited scans, deletions, and video compressions
  • Full contact merging
  • Full messaging and email attachment deletion
  • Unlimited Secret Vault storage
  • Smart Albums and Format Converter access
  • Full storage insights and analytics

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of the selected plan.

Managing Subscriptions

You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your account settings in the App Store after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Payment

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not handle any payment information directly. Pricing may vary by region and is subject to change.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policies. Contact Apple Support for refund inquiries.

5. Apple Standard EULA

This application is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, available at: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

6. User Content and Data

  • You retain full ownership of all photos, videos, contacts, and other content on your device
  • CleanSnap processes your content locally to provide its features — it does not copy, upload, or transmit your content
  • Deletion is permanent: When you use CleanSnap to delete photos, videos, or contacts, those items are moved to the device's "Recently Deleted" folder (for photos) or permanently removed (for contacts). Deleted items may not be recoverable
  • You are responsible for reviewing items before confirming deletion

7. Secret Vault

  • The Secret Vault stores photos in an encrypted, app-private directory on your device
  • If you forget your PIN and cannot use biometric authentication, there is no way to recover vault contents — we do not have access to your PIN or vault data
  • Uninstalling CleanSnap will permanently delete all vault contents
  • You are solely responsible for remembering your vault PIN

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
  • Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions or free tier limits
  • Redistribute or resell the app or its features

9. Data Disclaimer

CleanSnap is a utility tool that modifies content on your device. While we design our duplicate detection and cleanup algorithms to be accurate, no automated system is perfect. We strongly recommend:

  • Reviewing all items before confirming deletion
  • Maintaining regular device backups via iCloud or iTunes/Finder
  • Using the "Recently Deleted" album in Photos as a safety net (items remain for 30 days)

Q8 Dev is not responsible for accidental deletion of important files. Always back up your device before performing large cleanup operations.

10. Intellectual Property

CleanSnap, including its design, code, graphics, and branding, is owned by Q8 Dev. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the app.

11. Privacy

Your use of CleanSnap is also governed by our Privacy Policy. CleanSnap processes all data locally on your device and does not collect, transmit, or store personal data on external servers.

12. Availability and Updates

We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We recommend keeping the app updated to the latest version for the best experience and security patches.

13. Termination

You may stop using CleanSnap at any time by deleting the app. Deleting the app removes all app data, including Secret Vault contents and usage statistics.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

CLEANSNAP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT DUPLICATE DETECTION OR CLEANUP RECOMMENDATIONS WILL BE 100% ACCURATE.

15. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Q8 DEV SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PHOTOS OR VIDEOS, OR DAMAGE TO DEVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR CLEANSNAP PREMIUM IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

16. Apple-Specific Terms

These Terms are between you and Q8 Dev, not Apple Inc. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for CleanSnap. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to CleanSnap. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
