How do I play multiplayer matches?

Sign in to Game Center, tap "Find Match," and you'll be paired with an opponent of similar skill. Matches are real-time and split-screen.

What are perfect drops?

A perfect drop occurs when you land a block with less than 0.25 units of overhang. String perfect drops together to create perfect streaks, which distract your opponent's blocks.

How do power-ups work?

Power-ups (Freeze, Shield, Speed Boost) are usable in ranked Duel matches and do provide a competitive advantage. Freeze temporarily stops your opponent's block; Speed Boost doubles your opponent's block speed; Shield lets you survive one missed drop. All new players receive 3 of each power-up for free at first install, and you earn more through gameplay without spending money (daily login, win streaks, free power-up every 10 matches, daily deal discounts). Power-ups cannot be used in Solo or Speed modes. We are transparent that power-ups affect ranked play. Skill remains the primary factor — power-ups are limited to one of each per match.

Am I always playing against a real person in Find Match?

Not always. When you tap 'Find Match,' the app searches for a real human opponent via Game Center for up to 15 seconds. If no human is found, you are automatically matched with an AI bot. Bot matches from 'Find Match' are ranked and count toward your Elo rating. If you want a guaranteed AI match that does not affect your Elo, use the separate 'Vs AI' mode from the home screen.

Can I play offline?

Yes! Solo Mode and Speed Mode can be played offline anytime. Multiplayer requires an internet connection and Game Center sign-in.

How do I unlock cosmetics?

Cosmetics unlock through gameplay (matches, daily logins, challenges) or in-app purchases. The VIP Pass ($4.99) unlocks all cosmetics permanently.

What's the Elo system?

Duel Stack uses Elo-based matchmaking to rank players from Novice to Grand Master. Your rank adjusts based on match results. K=32 for your first 20 matches, then K=24.

How do I remove ads?

Purchase the "Remove Ads" in-app product ($2.99) for permanent ad-free gameplay. You can still watch ads voluntarily for bonus coins.

How do I delete my data?

You can reset your in-game stats (Elo, match history, coins, power-ups) using Settings > Reset All Stats. To request full deletion of your data from our servers — including your leaderboard record and purchase history — email q8y.c0d@gmail.com with the subject 'Data Deletion Request' and your Game Center display name. We will process requests within 30 days. Note that your Game Center account data is managed separately by Apple.

What data is backed up to iCloud?

Your Elo rating, match history, wins, losses, scores, streaks, coin balance, and power-up inventory are backed up to your personal iCloud Key-Value Store. This data is private to your Apple ID. Separately, your display name, Elo, and match statistics are also saved to our public leaderboard to power the in-game rankings. You can reset local stats in Settings, but leaderboard records require a deletion request via email.

What is the 'Watch Ad for +25 XP' option after matches?

After ranked Duel matches, users who have not purchased Remove Ads or VIP Pass may see an optional button to watch a rewarded video ad in exchange for 25 bonus XP. Watching is entirely voluntary. Tapping the button triggers an opt-in video ad served by Google AdMob.

Troubleshooting

Game crashes on launch

Try force-closing the app and reopening it. If the issue persists, restart your device. Ensure you're running iOS 18.0 or later.

Multiplayer connection issues

Check your internet connection and ensure Game Center is signed in. If matchmaking times out, try again in a few moments.

In-app purchases not working

Verify your Apple ID is set up correctly in Settings > [Your Name] > iTunes & App Stores. Try restarting the app and attempting the purchase again.

Stats not syncing

Stats sync via Game Center. Ensure you're signed in and have an active internet connection. Sync typically completes within a few seconds.
